It isn’t at all difficult to weave melodies effortlessly through the chord changes of a jazz standard. You can also learn to recognize common chord combinations and develop your musical imagination. That is, if you know how to go about it. What you need is a deeper understanding of harmony and a practice strategy that helps you to connect with your own musical creativity. You will continue to learn all this in the Mixed Harmony workshop.
In this workshop you will enhance your creativity with the chord progressions of Pure Harmony Advanced and begin improvising over the Mixed Harmony chords that uses notes outside the key of the music. 16 video lessons of approx. 15 minutes each with explanations, examples and clear homework assignments so that you know exactly what to practice. You can watch the instruction videos over and over again whenever it suits you.

Every time you learn a new chord, you will be shown a lot of well-known repertoire examples in which you can hear these sounds. You will most certainly recognise them.
You will get access to IFR Jam Tracks level 3 and 4 of Improvise for Real and the extra set of jam tracks by Jelske. The jam tracks are very enjoyable to study with and provide an organized, progressive practice path for your harmonic studies. All jam tracks are (downloadable) mp3 files.
If you choose to follow this course with personal guidance, this includes five private coaching sessions with me. In these sessions I will take the time for you. We can discuss and play through the assignments and exercises. We will also talk about creativity, break through your negative beliefs and develop a practice plan that is inspiring and fits your musical curiosity. You have followed the Introduction to Melodic Improvising. You understand the IFR tonal approach, feel comfortable improvising over Pure Harmony chord combinations and playing melodies by ear. When you’re in doubt if the program is suitable for you, please contact me for advise.
You need time to repeat the exercises. Ideally every day, but at least 3 times a week (approx. 1 hour). This will enable you to build momentum.
No! If you prefer classical music or pop for example, you can join too! The chords that you learn are used in all genres, and a wide variety of repertoire examples are provided.
